Council President Ashanti Hamilton endorses Earnell Lucas for Milwaukee County Sheriff
MILWAUKEE – Today, Milwaukee Common Council President and 1st District Alderman Ashanti Hamilton announced his endorsement of Earnell Lucas, candidate for Milwaukee County Sheriff.
“The people of Milwaukee deserve a Milwaukee County Sheriff who will protect their rights and end the disregard for human dignity that we have witnessed far too often in the Sheriff’s Office,” said Hamilton. “I am proud to stand with Earnell Lucas as he works to restore integrity and trust to the Sheriff’s Office. As our next Sheriff, he will work proactively to keep us safe while ensuring that our rights and dignity are honored.”

Earnell Lucas was born and raised in Milwaukee. He is a graduate of Rufus King High School and Marquette University and is a 25-year veteran of the Milwaukee Police Department, retiring at the rank of captain. He enjoys a successful career with Major League Baseball, where he has served in many capacities, including Head of Security. Earnell lives in Milwaukee with his wife and attends St. Matthew CME Church.
