Wisconsin Working Families Party, Voces de la Frontera Action and BLOC endorse Earnell Lucas

MILWAUKEE – The Wisconsin Working Families Party, Voces de la Frontera Action and Black Leaders Organizing for Communities (BLOC) are the newest additions to a growing list of organizations supporting Earnell Lucas for Milwaukee County Sheriff.

“Not only is Earnell an awarded hero and a true public servant, but he is the only candidate in this race with the vision, international and national expertise, and life experiences to reform the Milwaukee County Jail, to improve public safety and to build public trust in the Milwaukee County Sheriff’s Department,” said Rebecca Lynch, Political Director of the Wisconsin Working Families Party.

"We’re proud to endorse Earnell Lucas to be our next sheriff,” said Angela Lang, Executive Director of BLOC. “We plan to bring that spirit and that commitment to community organizing to our work to inform Milwaukee’s Black residents of our choices in the August 14th Primary election and elect Earnell Lucas as our next sheriff of Milwaukee County.”

 

Christine Neumann-Ortiz, Executive Director of Voces de le Frontera Action, added “That's why we're proud to endorse Earnell Lucas as the candidate for sheriff who will work to keep immigrant families and all Milwaukee residents safe."

Earnell Lucas was born and raised in Milwaukee. He is a graduate of Rufus King High School and Marquette University and is a 25-year veteran of the Milwaukee Police Department, retiring at the rank of captain. He then went on to a successful career with Major League Baseball, serving in many capacities, including Head of Security. Earnell lives in Milwaukee with his wife, Linda, and attends St. Matthew CME Church.
