Rep. Gwen Moore Endorses Earnell Lucas for Sheriff

MILWAUKEE – Today, Congresswoman Gwen Moore announced her endorsement of Earnell Lucas to be the next Milwaukee County Sheriff. Congresswoman Moore is the most recent addition to a growing list of elected officials voicing support for Lucas’ candidacy.

“The people of Milwaukee County deserve a Sheriff they can trust,” said Congresswoman Moore. “Earnell Lucas was born and raised in our community and represents the values that we hold dear. We need to repair the damage that has been done in the Milwaukee County Sheriff’s Office and restore the community’s trust in their law enforcement officials. Earnell Lucas has the experience and background necessary to get us back on the right track.  I am proud to endorse him to be our next Milwaukee County Sheriff.”

“I am honored and humbled to receive the support of Congresswoman Gwen Moore,” said Lucas. “She continues to be a fierce and tireless advocate for the people of our community.  For decades, Congresswoman Moore has worked to ensure that everyone in her district, the State of Wisconsin and our country is treated fairly and equally.  As the next Milwaukee County Sheriff, I will respect the human dignity of everyone and restore honor and trust to the Sheriff’s Office.  I look forward to working with Congresswoman Moore and the people of her district to make Milwaukee County strong and safe.”

Earnell Lucas was born and raised in Milwaukee. He is a graduate of Rufus King High School and Marquette University and is a 25-year veteran of the Milwaukee Police Department, retiring at the rank of captain.
