Milwaukee Area Labor Council endorses Earnell Lucas for Sheriff

MILWAUKEE – The Milwaukee Area Labor Council endorsed Earnell Lucas and became the first labor organization to voice their support for a candidate in the Milwaukee County Sheriff’s race.

The Milwaukee Area Labor Council represents local unions in the building trades, industrial, public and service sectors. The council has voiced its support of Earnell Lucas’ candidacy.

"Earnell Lucas is dedicated to restoring trust in the Milwaukee County Sheriff’s Office by forging relationships, tackling tough issues and providing a high level of service throughout the community,” said Pam Fendt, President of the Milwaukee Area Labor Council. “As Sheriff, Earnell Lucas will work to ensure that the rights and working conditions of corrections officers, sheriff’s deputies and other employees are respected."

“It is an honor to be endorsed by the working people of Milwaukee County. As Sheriff, I will be a voice for everyday people.  I will ensure that the Sheriff’s Office is a productive work environment and that all members have the support they need to serve our community,” said Earnell Lucas. “It’s time for a fresh start.  It’s time for a Sheriff who respects all of our citizens and works to make Milwaukee County strong and safe.”

Earnell Lucas was born and raised in Milwaukee. He is a graduate of Rufus King High School and Marquette University and is a 25-year veteran of the Milwaukee Police Department, retiring at the rank of captain. He then went on to a successful career with Major League Baseball, serving in many capacities, including Head of Security. Earnell lives in Milwaukee with his wife, Linda, and attends St. Matthew CME Church.
